In my humble opinion, a photographer should have "the eye" not only to capture cool photos, but the eye that is fast enough with a thought process behind it, or at least ready and open for moments like this. In that aspect, I believe you've been more than satisfying as the soul operating that camera.
Is this original... well, an already cute animal doing something even cuter. We have perhaps seen hundreds of photos like this but I believe this is original because of the way the expression somehow resembles or parallels a human reaction. (in expression)
Technique, again in my opinion unquestionably close to perfect, in respect of compositional rules (subject placement etc), focus is right where it needs to be and background blur (with or without intention) wraps this photo nicely. (Even the copyright mark is very tasteful and classy; subjectively.)
Impact! Yes! Even the thumbnail says "Hey Bob!" and stands out. Nicely exposed and again the graphic qualities grab attention and attracts gaze. Personally I enjoyed this photo much and thank you for sharing this with us.
That is an epic photo. Reminds me somewhat of the red panda kung fu master from Kung Fu Panda. You are an epic photographer to capture such moments in stunning clarity!
