Species : Arctictis binturong - Binturong, Asian Bearcat (~ 10 months)
The binturong (not a bear) is the only genus of the family Viverridae (which includes genets and civets). Its natural habitat is the forest canopy of the southeast Asian forests (Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, China, India...).
The bearcat is a nocturnal animal. Omnivorous, it feeds mainly on fruits, but it eats also eggs, leaves or small mammals.
Size : 65-95 cm lengh (head and body).
Weight : 9-14 kg.
The bearcat is listed as Vulnerable in the UINC Red List.

I've seen the parents and the young binturongs very closely while I was in a training at the park... and you know they can be very dangerous ! The people who feed them won't have let me approach closer than 1 or 2 meters of the father for example.
But in deed... they are cute ! And the little baby I saw was really too cute ^^

Yeh they are definantly not for personal pets. But I've always wanted to work on a reservation reserve to help them in rehab. :)
